Privacy & Cookies
How we handle enquiries, website information and your analytics choices.
Who is responsible
Robert Murray is a UK sole trader operating Operational Clarity and is responsible for the personal information covered by this notice. For privacy questions or requests, email reports@operational-clarity.com. This notice covers the website and commissioned research enquiries, including enquiries from outside the UK.
Email enquiries and how we use information
Enquiries arrive by email, not through a contact form. We use Google Workspace for business email. We receive the information you send, such as your name, email address, organisation and research requirements. We use it to reply, discuss scope and feasibility, and administer any resulting engagement. Please do not include passwords, credentials or sensitive technical evidence in an initial enquiry.
Lawful bases
Optional Google Analytics uses your consent. For enquiries and engagements, the relevant basis depends on the circumstances: legitimate interests may cover responding to an organisation’s representative; steps before a contract or performing a contract may apply where you are personally a party; legal obligations may require particular records. The operator still needs to confirm the bases used for these activities. Accepting analytics does not sign you up for marketing.
Google Analytics and your cookie choices
Google Analytics runs only after you choose Accept analytics. It helps us understand visits and page use, using online identifiers, browser and device details and technical connection information. We do not send enquiry contents to Analytics, and advertising features and Google signals are disabled in our website code. Analytics may set _ga and _ga_* cookies. Rejecting analytics leaves the website available. Use Cookie Settings in the footer to change or withdraw your choice. Your choice is saved in browser storage until you change it or clear that storage. Withdrawal stops our Analytics, removes accessible Analytics cookies and reloads the page; it does not delete data Google has already received.
Other website services
Lovable Cloud hosts the website and the retained private enquiry records and administrator sign-in. Hosting, security and error handling may process technical request information. Essential browser storage supports administrator sign-in, your cookie choice and page scroll positions. Google Fonts supplies the typefaces, so your browser also sends connection information to Google when requesting fonts; this is separate from Analytics. The published hosting service has also been observed loading its own analytics and event scripts, outside our Google Analytics controls. Whether Lovable Visitor Analytics has been disabled still requires verification before publication.
How long information is kept
Enquiry and engagement information should be kept only as long as needed for its purpose and any applicable legal obligations. No fixed email or engagement retention period is stated here because the operator’s review and deletion practice still needs confirmation. Legacy website enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are flagged for review at 12 months and deleted manually by an authorised administrator, not automatically. Analytics cookie lifetimes are separate from Google’s stored-data retention setting, which also needs confirmation.
Providers and international processing
Information is handled by Robert Murray and relevant service providers, including Google Workspace for email, Lovable Cloud for website services, and Google for consented Analytics and font requests. These providers may process information outside the UK. The relevant processing locations and transfer arrangements still need confirmation; this notice does not claim that a particular safeguard or guarantee is in place. Information may also be disclosed where legally required.
Your privacy rights
Depending on the circumstances, you may ask to access, correct or erase your personal information, restrict its use, object to processing or receive a portable copy. Email reports@operational-clarity.com to make a request. You can withdraw analytics consent at any time without affecting earlier lawful processing. You may complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk. Other rights may apply if you are outside the UK; this notice does not claim compliance with every country’s privacy laws.
